Ella is a small town in the Badulla District of Uva Province, Sri Lanka. Ella is a top tourist attraction in Sri Lanka due to its beautiful and attractive surrounding and comfortable climate.
It is approximately 210 kilometers far away from the city of Colombo and it will take 5-6 hours for traveling by a car or van from the Colombo.
It is situated at an elevation of 1,041 meters above sea level. Ella is a small town in the eastern side of the highlands in Sri Lanka. This area is filled with tea estates, mountains and waterfalls. Ella is surrounded by hills covered with green forests and tea plantations. Therefore, it has a cooler climate.

Little Adam’s Peak Location
Little Adam’s peak / Mini Adam’s peak is the closest and easiest hike in Ella relative to the Ella rock. The entrance is located nearly 5 km from Ella town in Ella-Passara road. From the entrance it will take 30-45 min for the hike. When you reach, it is able to get superior experience through the 360 degrees panoramic views.
Ella Rock Location
The hiking of Ella rock is quite tough. It is a good place for trekkers who are loving for the hiking. For climbing up and down it will take 4 hours. The way is with full of diversity with waterfall, forest and tea plantations. Once you came to the top, it can be experience beautiful and marvelous panoramic views with mist and cloud.
Nine Arch Bridge Location
Nine arch bridge is one of the great engineering work in 20th century. It is located in Demodara, between Ella and Demodara railway stations. This bridge is almost 100 years old and has been built with blocks of stone and cement without any strengthening iron or concrete. By a 30 min walk from Ella Railway station it can be reach the bridge.
Ravana Water Fall Location
Ravana water fall is very scenic and beautiful water fall. It is located very close to Ella-Wellawaya main road. It can reach Ravana fall by a 10 min drive from Ella town.
Demodara Railway Loop Location
Demodara loop is a spiral railway which is recognized as one of the attractive civil engineering work in Sri Lanka. Through a 10-15 min drive from Ella, it is able to reach it.
